The First “Open Social” Platform – Seesmic Desktop 2 Launches with 40 plugins!

Seesmic is launching a new version of its Desktop software. This new version of Seesmic is the first “Open Social” platform which allows developers to produce plugins integrating any social service with the Seesmic Desktop 2. The developer doesn’t have to apply to Seesmic to have the plugin approved but Seesmic has a way of deactivating problem plugins.

This new version of Seesmic is raising the bar and is certainly strong competition for Hootsuite and Tweet Deck.
