Twitter videos to increase your Tweeducation!

Twitter is based on such a simple concept. A messaging service which allows you to announce what you are doing right now to people that have opted in to follow you. You can also follow other people to see what they are “doing right now”. You can follow people but they don’t necessarily have to follow you. A message on Twitter is called a “Tweet” and that is about it…. or is it?

On the surface, Twitter really is that simple but if you want to get more out of your Twitter experience it can be a lot more complicated than that. This is why Twitter has launched a series of videos to help users understand the power of Twitter and the new features that have been added to the Twitter platform.

First of all, very few people are using twitter only to Tweet about what they are literally doing right now. A popular video on how to use Twitter promoted this concept but it has evolved into much more than that. People use “Tweets” to share links that they find interesting or valuable, to promote events, to promote a cause, to sell products and services and to build a personal brand. There are many other reasons to use Twiter as well. The simplicity of Twitter is what has made it so successful but it’s complexity has kept people interested. From hashtags to @replies Twitter has evolved into a very interesting communications tool where you can watch a stream of real time news, thoughts and conversations.

It was a good idea to make videos to show people the power of Twitter. Other companies such as Mail Chimp have made a series of videos and screen casts to demonstrate how to use their service to their customers and prospective users. The new Twitter Help Center now has videos to answer the questions you want to know about using Twitter. “What is a ReTweet?”, “What is Following?”, “What is a Timeline?” and “How to Find People and Be Found?” are all demonstrated in these videos! They have also created a YouTube channel for these videos as well.

The videos are embedded below for your viewing pleasure! Watch them and decide for yourself. If you haven’t started Tweeting yet maybe now is the time to join in the fun!
